Trinkets n Threads began in 2015 in Downtown Shelbyville, IN while I was working for a local newspaper. I was at an appointment with a local boutique owner and we began discussing the need for more Downtown businesses. I told her of my dream to be an interior designer and own a storefront, and within minutes of parting ways, I received a message from her asking if I wanted to use part of her building to start my business! When the owners of the building decided to sell, I relocated to Downtown Franklin, IN. In addition to my life with Trinkets n Threads,I am a single mom of two amazing young men. However, when they are gone, my focus is right back on the shop. You only get out of something what you put into it, and being a business owner is not an 8am - 5pm job. I’ll be at home lying in bed messaging someone in North Carolina or California about a product or sending updates to my web designer, but my boys and their time come first... so I make sure I tell people that I might be messaging them at 2 or 3 in the morning. Haha!!
To do what I love every day is such a blessing. If you have a dream you're pursuing, take that leap of faith! It can be scary, but is so well worth it!
